I set up and test proxies inside antidetect browsers on a regular basis, and Dolphin Anty is one of the tools buyers ask about most often. The setup itself is short, but a few settings decide whether the profile holds a single clean IP or breaks mid-session. This guide walks through the whole process with real screenshots, from generating the proxy to confirming the location inside the browser. Here is the quick version before the full walkthrough.
TL;DR
Generate a proxy in your CatProxies plan with a sticky session, copy the full proxy string, then paste it into the New proxy field when creating a Dolphin Anty profile. Dolphin Anty auto-detects the format, checks the connection, and shows a green result when the proxy works.
For browser profiles: use a sticky session so the IP stays static instead of rotating on every request.
For the format: copy the whole proxy line and let Dolphin Anty split it into host, port, username, and password automatically.
Core point: one generated proxy is enough for one browser profile.
Key Takeaways
You only need one proxy per browser profile. Proxy count controls how many you generate, not how many the profile needs.
Use a sticky session for browsing. A rotating IP changes constantly and is wrong for a persistent browser profile.
HTTP is the more widely available protocol. SOCKS5 also works, but not every IP in a pool is SOCKS5 compatible.
Static duration is best effort, not a guarantee. If the residential peer disconnects, the IP is replaced.
Static ISP is the better choice for long term browsing and account management, because the IP stays stable over time.
How This Was Set Up
The steps below come from a live CatProxies residential plan and a real Dolphin Anty profile, targeting Germany, Berlin as the example location. Each screenshot shows the actual settings used, and the final check confirms the browser profile reported the intended location.
Step 1: Configure the Proxy in Your CatProxies Plan
First I go to my active proxy plan and do some settings before copying anything. This is where you set the target location, protocol, and session type. CatProxies residential proxies are used for this example, targeting Germany, Berlin.

CatProxies Standard Residential proxy generator: gateway server, protocol, and Germany, Berlin targeting.
I will choose to target Germany, Berlin for this example, so I will leave the gateway server on France because it is the closest option available for Germany and EU. Some proxy sites automatically select this based on location, others give you the option to choose it yourself. For protocol I will leave it on HTTP, even tho socks5 is also fine. Some people prefer socks5 over http and some mobile apps may work better with socks5, but usually http is the more available options and might give faster results depending on ip.
A Note on SOCKS5 Availability
Many proxy providers advertise socks5 protocols on their ip pools, but that does not mean EVERY ip is compatible with socks5. If you get an error when using a proxy with socks5 it means the ip you got is not compatible with socks5 or there are no ips available compatible with socks5. You can either widen the targeting to find more ips or select http instead if possible.
Step 2: Choose a Sticky Session for Browsing
Assuming you need the proxy for browsing, since you are using it on a browser, you probably need it to stay static and not rotate every second. You need to select the sticky session and a duration you want for your browsing session.

Session settings: sticky session selected, proxy count of 1, and a 10 minute session lifetime.
Proxy count means only how many proxies you generate, you do not need more than 1 for each browser profile you want to open.
I chose 10 minutes for this test example.
Reminder static duration is a best effort, not a guarantee. The system tries to hold your ip static for that period of time, but if the residential peer disconnects the ip will be replaced.
Step 3: Copy the Full Proxy String
You can copy each proxy detail separately, but since we are working with dolphinanty on this tutorial you can copy paste the whole proxy and they will automatically detect the format for you.

The proxy details and the full single-line proxy string ready to copy.
Step 4: Open Dolphin Anty and Create a Profile
After you downloaded the browser from their official link (https://dolphin-anty.com/download/) you will see this interface.

The Dolphin Anty All profiles screen. The Create profile button is at the top right.
You do not need to do any settings on the left navigation bar. Go straight to create profile button.

New profile screen. Name the profile and locate the New proxy button under Proxy.
You can give it a name and leave the other settings as they are. The most important one right now is the new proxy button.
Step 5: Paste the Proxy and Let Dolphin Anty Detect It

Select the matching protocol, then paste the full proxy into the Proxy field.
Select the protocol you also have selected in the proxy settings and then copy paste the whole proxy in the proxy field. They will automatically detect the format and fill the other fields for you.

A green result confirms the proxy connects, showing the detected IP and Berlin location.
Their system will also check the connection and give you a green sign if everything is fine with the proxy you entered.
Step 6: Create the Profile

Leave the remaining settings as they are and click Create profile.
You can leave all the other settings as they are and click create profile.
Step 7: Start the Profile and Verify the IP

The created profile in the list. Click Start to launch the browser.
After the profile is created you can just click start to start your browser profile.
You can visit this site https://ipinfo.io/what-is-my-ip to check your accurate ip location on that browser profile. Since everything is setup properly the location we are now seeing is Germany, Berlin.

IPinfo confirms the browser profile is reporting Berlin, State of Berlin, Germany.
Which Proxy Type to Choose for Browser Profiles
Best proxies for normal browsing or social media management would be static ISP. For account creation we always recommend residential or mobile, but for long term management and browsing static isp proxies are just better because of the long term static ip. The more you change your ip the worse it gets for the account status.
| Proxy type | Best use for browser profiles | Static long term? |
| Static ISP | Normal browsing and social media management | Yes |
| Residential | Account creation | No, static is best effort only |
| Mobile | Account creation | No, static is best effort only |
Note there are no long term static residential proxies as nobody could guarantee a residential peer will always be connected to a network sharing app. If a provider tries to sell you long term static residential proxies those are 100% named wrong or they are coming from a botnet source with infected devices.
For normal and ethical residential proxies, there is no such thing as long term static residential proxies, only long term static isp proxies.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many proxies do I need for one Dolphin Anty profile?
One. Proxy count in the generator controls how many proxies you create, not how many a single profile requires. Generate one proxy per browser profile you plan to open.
Should I use HTTP or SOCKS5 in Dolphin Anty?
HTTP is usually the more available protocol and can be faster depending on the IP. SOCKS5 also works, but not every IP in a pool is SOCKS5 compatible. If SOCKS5 returns an error, widen the targeting or switch to HTTP, and make sure the protocol matches on both sides.
Why did my Dolphin Anty proxy change IP mid-session?
Static duration is best effort, not a guarantee. The system tries to hold the IP for the session lifetime you set, but if the residential peer disconnects the IP is replaced. For a longer stable IP, static ISP proxies are the better choice.
Do I need to enter the proxy fields one by one?
No. Copy the full single-line proxy string and paste it into the Proxy field. Dolphin Anty auto-detects the format and fills host, port, username, and password for you, then checks the connection.
Are there long term static residential proxies?
No. Nobody can guarantee a residential peer stays connected to a network sharing app, so residential IPs cannot be held static long term. A provider selling long term static residential proxies is either mislabelling them or sourcing from a botnet. For a stable long term IP, use static ISP proxies.
